Beat Plastic Pollution

Together we can end plastic pollution
What You Need to Know About Plastic Pollution

Plastic pollution is the mass dumping of plastic across the landfills or oceans. Plastic pollution in the oceans is leading to the extinction of ocean life. It also highly contributes to the climatic change. A data presented by UN specified that as of today, we produce about 300 million tonnes of plastic waste every year. According to researchers, more than 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic has been produced since the 1950s, and 60% of this plastic has been dumped in either landfills, natural environment and oceans. Out of this, only 9% of plastic waste is recycled,12% destroyed, and the rest 79% is accumulated in the natural environment, dumps or landfills. In addition, 95% of the disposable plastic is wasted. Around 5 trillion single-use plastic bags are used every year globally. Plastic has become a threat to all living beings across the globe.
